Mike Budreski

Co-Founder & CEO

Mike is a Nova Scotia native who grew up working his family’s shellfish and sea urchin farm — giving him an understanding of the seafood industry that can’t be learned in a boardroom. He went on to work the trading floor at the New York Stock Exchange in energy and commodities, where he developed the commercial and analytical instincts he later brought back to seafood.

He founded Ocean Executive, a B2B seafood marketplace backed by Innovacorp, connecting producers, processors, and buyers across North America, Asia, and Europe. As CEO of Tempus Seafoods, he later brought that same operational rigour to building a vertically integrated premium seafood business alongside Brian.

Through those ventures, Mike developed relationships with some of the most respected names in premium aquaculture — including Cuna del Mar and Open Blue, two global leaders in responsibly farmed, high-value species. Those relationships are part of what makes the Blue Shell network genuinely differentiated.

Brian Fong

Co-Founder & CCO

Brian is a commercial operator who has built and run marketing engines at the highest level. As Global VP of Sales & Marketing at Sapporo/Sleeman Breweries, he led large-scale go-to-market strategy across international markets — developing the kind of discipline around brand positioning, channel development, and partnership architecture that takes years and real accountability to earn.

Through his consultancy Brand-Tastic, Brian has served as a Fractional CMO for businesses across travel, seafood, aviation, and CPG — helping ambitious brands sharpen their commercial strategy and build the infrastructure to grow. That breadth of category experience means he can spot what works, and what is just noise, faster than most.

As CEO of Tempus Seafoods, he took that operator mindset into one of the most demanding categories in food — building a premium DTC seafood brand from the ground up, navigating cold chain logistics, e-commerce, and direct-to-consumer brand development end to end. Based between Halifax and Vancouver, Brian understands both coasts and the distinct markets they connect to.
